Founded in 1894, Bodegas Palacio has more than 100 years of history as a leading winemaker of Rioja, and today is known as the region's finest.

We produce a wide range of wines known for having their own personalities and differentiating touch.  Our wines are consistently awarded prizes in the most recognized tastings and guides.

Prestigious brand names such as Glorioso, a product line crafted using traditional methods dating back to 1928; Cosme Palacio, considered one of the first "Nuevos Riojas" signature wines produced toward the end of the 1980´s; and of course, unforgettable young wines such as Castillo Rioja, Pórtico and Milflores.

The Bodega and vineyard

Right in the middle of the Rioja Alavesa, very close to Laguardia, sits a medieval walled village of great historical significance.  In this village the Bodegas Palacio are located, surrounded by vineyards nestled in a privileged location for winemaking.  Next door, we find the antique bodega, where more than 100 years ago, Don Cosme Palacio began crafting his wines.  Today it has been converted into a small hotel in the pure French Chateaux style.

Bodegas Palacio houses one of the largest oaken barrel parks in la Rioja with more than 12,000 barrels, mostly of French oak.  The barrels are continually renovated, insuring high quality wines with personality.

What sets the Bodegas Palacio apart in addition to our 170 hectares of vineyard under cultivation, are the long-term relationships we have fomented with other growers in the region.  This gives us greater control of processes and grape selection, guaranteeing the same high quality year after year.
